Pet Passport Makes Quarantine A Thing Of The Past.

With the new changes in getting a pet passport, you can now bring your pet to the UK or Europe as easy as going to the shops. Once you fulfill all the basic details below to get a passport for your pet, you dont have to worry about quarantine. In order to get this passport, you need to get the following for your pet:

  1. Microchip identification
  2. A Rabies vaccination at least three weeks before you plan to re-enter Ireland
  3. Treatment for tapeworms and ticks not less than 24 hours before coming back into Ireland and not more than 5 days.

Once you pet has its microchip and rabies vaccination, we will apply for a passport for your pet and  do all the paperwork in relation to filling in the appropriate details for you on the passport.

Up to the end of 2011, pets needed a Rabies blood test done as part of the passport. This is now no longer the case. If you have any queries in relation to this, dont hesitate to call us at any of our Veterinary Surgeries in Meath or Dublin or check out the Official Pet Passport Website here
